Wellington Collegians Cricket Club

Spring Training

The cricket season is still a way off with the first playing day scheduled for early November. Prior to this Collegians will be offering its Spring Training programme to all Collegians junior hard ball cricketers.

It’s a great way to dust off the cobwebs, catch up with teammates and get quality cricket coaching placing you on the front foot for the start of the season. The club encourages coach and parent participation, and the program is particularly pertinent to Year 5 cricketers new to hard ball cricket. Bring your own playing gear or the club will have on hand cricket gear for those that need it - that said, either way it is BYOB (bring your own box)! Spaces are limited too, so please enrol soon.

The programme will be led again by Akash Sivan, the overseas professional for the Collegians Premier side and who has played professional cricket in India for the past 6 years, with representations for his State (Tamil Nadu U23) and for the TUTI Patriots in franchise T-20 cricket in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Timing and Venue

The pre-season training offers Saturday or Sunday times (see below) and runs for 5 sessions over 6 weeks, starting 12th September to 18th October. Excluding 3rd & 4th October, the middle week of the school holidays. Spring training will be held at the Basin Reserve indoor nets.
